Primary Maths and English Tuition
All of our tutors are experienced primary teachers. We plan each session carefully around the needs of each individual child. Our online Zoom sessions offer each child a weekly one-to-one lesson with a Maths / English teacher.
One to one tuition sessions are conducted on Zoom and cost:
£27.00 for 45 minutes
£36.00 for one hour
At Tutors that Count, our experienced teachers have a full understanding of the requirements of Key Stage Two, and how to prepare for the Year Six SATS and High School. Many of our teachers are specialists in their subjects so you can rely on the knowledge that your child is working with a tutor who is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. We like our lessons to be as interactive as possible with our Primary students and we have special Maths kits that are available to purchase if you would like to

Meet Amanda- Our Primary English and Maths Teacher
Teaching Experience
I am an experienced and passionate practitioner with over twenty-five years working in education across all primary years and in a range of school settings both in the UK and Internationally. As a highly motivated individual, I have worked as a classroom teacher, head of year and head of Key Stage, and am driven to nurture stimulating and varied learning environments for all learners. Knowledge of best practice techniques has allowed me to transfer these skills to working online during the pandemic and also to working 1:1 with children to support and compliment their schooling.

I am also proud to have held the role of Primary Years Manager, contributing towards developing the primary department of a highly successful educational training and consultancy company, training, encouraging and supporting other practitioners across a range of subject areas, and qualifications.

Meet Elaine

Meet Elaine - Our KS2 English / Maths Teacher
Teaching experience
I was a Primary School teacher for over thirty years, in a variety of Primary Schools mainly as a class teacher and curriculum leader in English and Humanities, but also working directly with Year Six children supporting them with SATs. I have taught both KS1 and 2 classes working with children from a variety of backgrounds and abilities. Since leaving teaching I have worked as a tutor in London and now Suffolk, working with children as young as six, through to children in Year six, from Phonics to 11 plus.
Why do you tutor English?
I studied English at university as part of my Bed Hons, Language and Literacy has always been a passion for me. My experience over the years especially as a Literacy coordinator has meant I’ve overseen the implementation of various government initiatives in Schools, this has given me a vast collection of resources to draw on and an instinct for what works with individual children and I can adapt my teaching accordingly.
Other interests
I can always be found with a book, but I love to cycle my sit up and beg bicycle around the Suffolk Lanes. I paint, draw, sew and knit, I also love to grow things in my tiny garden. I’m
very interested in becoming involved with my local community as I have recently moved to Suffolk.
Elaine is able to offer some face-to-face lessons in Wenhaston Suffolk and the surrounding areas

Recent Reviews from our Parents
I cannot recommend Elaine enough. Work for my daughter is sent through a couple of days on advance so I can print it off ready. We get the option of face to face or zoom sessions. All work covered is explained to me by the Tutor. The Tutor is always available to talk to during the week should I have questions or feedback regarding how my daughter is doing at school or subject areas she is struggling on so it can be included in the lessons. The most important thing to me is my daughter enjoys her lessons. Thank you Elaine!

Recent Reviews from our Parents
We have had a tough time with huge issues last year in Maths, due to poor teaching, lockdown, frustration and simply not finding my sons "Eureka moment". But Polly has worked wonders with my son during the last lockdown till now. To the point that he passed his entrance exam into high school and also achieved a scholarship. I will be forever grateful for the kindness, support, understanding and positive vibes given to my son by Polly. Her teaching methods are fun, and so is she. If your thinking of getting a tutor Tutors that count won’t let you down!
