Primary Maths and English Tuition

All of our tutors are experienced primary teachers. We plan each session carefully around the needs of each individual child. Our online Zoom sessions offer each child a weekly one-to-one lesson with a Maths / English teacher.

One to one tuition sessions are conducted on Zoom and cost:

  • £30.00 for 45 minutes

  • £40.00 for one hour

At Tutors that Count, our experienced teachers have a full understanding of the requirements of  Key Stage Two, and how to prepare for the Year Six SATS and High School. Many of our teachers are specialists in their subjects so you can rely on the knowledge that your child is working with a tutor who is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. We like our lessons to be as interactive as possible with our Primary students and we have special Maths kits that are available to purchase if you would like to.

We have a contact form at the bottom of this page that offers a call back service. We are more than happy to chat to you to explain how our lessons work and answer any questions that you may have. If you would like to book a session, please complete the Contact Form at the bottom of this page and include the session time and date that you would like to book

Meet Amanda- Our Primary English and Maths Teacher

Teaching Experience

I am an experienced and passionate practitioner with over twenty-five years working in education across all primary years and in a range of school settings both in the UK and Internationally. As a highly motivated individual, I have worked as a classroom teacher, head of year and head of Key Stage, and am driven to nurture stimulating and varied learning environments for all learners. Knowledge of best practice techniques has allowed me to transfer these skills to working online during the pandemic and also to working 1:1 with children to support and compliment their schooling.

What Makes You A  Specialist Teacher?

Having so many years experience, working with all age ranges across the primary and early years.

I am also proud to have held the role of Primary Years Manager, contributing towards developing the primary department of a highly successful educational training and consultancy company, training, encouraging and supporting other practitioners across a range of subject areas, and qualifications.

Other Interests

Horse riding, singing in the local choral society, tennis!

Meet Bridget- Our Primary English and Maths Teacher

Teaching Experience

I have been a teacher for over 30 years in primaries.  I spent 10 years working as a specialist maths teacher in Middle schools teaching maths to years 5 to 8. The rest of my career has been spent in primaries mostly as a class teacher in KS2 including SATs.

What Makes You A  Specialist Teacher?

I really understand what might block understanding for children and I am able to ‘find a way through’ for them to understanding by providing them with resources that support them or a method they can remember.  I have lots of experience of working with children with SEND including ASD.

I have extensive experience of 6 SATs, having spent many years teaching and leading Year 6.  I also have recent experience of teaching year 1 and 2.

I have a thorough and wide knowledge of the primary curriculum from phonics teaching to year 6 grammar in English.

Other Interests

I have lived in the Beccles area for 30 years and enjoy the Suffolk/Norfolk countryside, waterways and beaches especially canoeing and cycling. I love reading, Scrabble and maths problems! Painting in watercolours is a hobby of mine and one of my favourite times of the week is the pottery class I attend. I also enjoy travelling the world and have been fortunate to have visited many countries. But most of all love spending time with family and friends.
